john mccain and lindsey graham have been accusing the obama administration of changing susan rice's talking points, following the benghazi incident. they claim links to al qaeda were left out for political purposes. but on tuesday, their conspiracy theory was blown out of the water. the spokeswoman for the director of national intelligence told cnn the white house wasn't involved in removing the information on al qaeda. he said the intelligence community made the changes. in responding to this report, mccain admitted that he was wrong, but still took a shot at the white house. he said intelligence officials, quote, told us they did not know who made the changes. now we have to read the answers to our questions in the media. this latest episode is another reason why many of us are so suspicious of actions of this administration when it comes to the benghazi attack. meanwhile, his sidekick, lindsey graham, is going into full attack mode. senator graham wrote a letter to president obama on tuesday, saying that he's concerned. many questions remain unanswered on the benghazi attacks.

? as you may well know, the obama administration is trying to get all of those people who voted for the president to come on board and say this is what we want and to press congress to make a deal but it is sort of hard to figure out what is fair. >> exactly. i said to my staff last week we need a big charge that shows the options and how much money is delivered or caused by each step we might take. i think for the most americans they have to know that no matter what we do, taxes are not going to go up on 98%, those people making less than $250,000 a year. where we go above that, i think our side is very, very necessity gloeshable. if there is a number that makes more sense, a half a million dollars to raise the marginal rate, a million dollars, we can look at that and we would be willing to do that and so far the republicans have not been willing to budget one inch on rates and again this is all a matter of semantics. it is not dollars so they ought to be willing to put everything on the table on the revenue side. >> what they might say is and let me get your answer. you said w

to defend the obama administration. >>wouldn't do it. this is opposite day. >> i actually think the president's, dare i say, i've been critical of hs his handling of the middle east and specifically the u.s. relationship with israel, i think he's handled this well. i completely reject this is commitly motivated or about american jewish vote or the election. there's one time he doesn't have to play to the american jewish community it's right now, and i think he recognizes that israel was unprovoked, that they are dealing with a government in gaza that the u.s. and the europeans all label a terrorist organization, 12 to 15,000 rockets sitting in gaza built up over years, israel's in the last few weeks been subjected to over a thousand of them, i think his assessments is, it's a really complicated issue. of course he's horrified by the deaths on both sides, but the idea that israel can't respond the way it's responding, is completely unreasonable. and i think he is handling it well and that he's focused on egypt. egypt is -- morsi is the lynchpen here. if there's any stabilization
